Rest House at the Site of the Konoe Residence (General Information)

This visitor center is located at the site of the residence of the Kan-in no Miya family, one of the four imperial houses. The building is an old structure that has been preserved and renovated, and the garden is one of the highlights. When visiting Kyoto Gyoen, stop by the visitor center first to learn about this national garden.
Open: Year-round (except for Mondays, New Year’s holidays, and other holidays)
Hours: 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Admission: Free

Nakadachiuri Rest House

京This rest house located on the west side of Kyoto Gyoen is closest to the entrance to Kyoto Imperial Palace. In addition to a rest area, there is also a restaurant and a souvenir shop.
Open: Year-round (except for New Year’s holidays, and other holidays)
Hours: 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Seiwain Rest House

This rest house is located on the east side of Kyoto Gyoen. It is closest to the entrances to Kyoto Sento Imperial Palace & Kyoto Omiya Imperial Palace and Kyoto State Guest House. Requests for tours of Kyoto State Guest House are accepted at the rest house.

Nakadachiuri Information Center

This rest house is located at the site of the residence of the Konoe family in the northwestern section of Kyoto Gyoen. An area planted with Itozakura cherry trees (weeping cherry trees) at the Site of the Konoe Residence and the Children’s Park are close by, and the Site of the Katsura no Miya Residence and the Site of the Nakayama Residence are a short distance away. The rest house contains an eatery.
Rental: The rest house can be rented out on the days it is closed to the public.

Sakaimachi Rest House

In the rest area there are stone benches, and a bulletin board providing visitors with a map of Kyoto Gyoen, information on flowering plants in season, and other useful information.

Tominokoji Rest House

This rest house is located in the southeast part of Kyoto Gyoen. The area has playing fields, tennis courts, and other sports facilities. The use of facilities, such as playing fields and tennis courts, requires advance reservations (fees apply).

Children’s Park Rest House

At the site of the Konoe Residence in the northwestern section of Kyoto Gyoen is the Children’s Park with swings, a slide, and other playground equipment. Right next to the park is the Children’s Park Rest House for rest and relaxation.
