Kyoto Gyoen Use Form

  • The Kyoto Gyoen National Garden Office requests that groups of ten or more people who wish to visit Kyoto Gyoen National Garden for purposes such as walks, field trip, and nature observation to submit the Kyoto Gyoen Use Form.
  • Please submit the form so that it arrives by noon at least three days in advance of the planned date of use (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays).
  • The form is accepted at the Kyoto Gyoen National Garden Office in person or by fax. Please download the form from the link below.

  • No further procedures are required after submitting the use form.
  • Fees apply to Tominokoji Ground and Imadegawa Ground.
  • Please refrain from recreational and exercise activities that may disturb other visitors, including recreation and sports using playground equipment and sports equipment (except in sports facilities where fees apply).
  • The rest houses currently have reduced seating to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
    Please note that all members of a group may not be able to use a rest house at the same time.

Since October 14, 2021, construction work to create rest facilities is being undertaken at three locations in Kyoto Gyoen National Garden (east side of Nakadachiuri Rest House, west side of Konoe Pond, and area around the south side of the Kyoto State Guest House).
We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Photography within Kyoto Gyoen

  • If you wish to take photographs in Kyoto Gyoen, please refer to “Taking Photographs within Kyoto Gyoen National Garden” and submit the photography application form to the Kyoto Gyoen National Garden Office by at least five days in advance (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays) by postal mail (must arrive by at least five days in advance) or in person. The office accepts applications on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (except 12:00 p.m.–1:00 p.m.).
  • For media-related photography (TV, magazines, newspapers, etc.),* a written proposal must be submitted in addition to the application form. Please contact the Kyoto Gyoen National Garden Office in advance.
  • If your application is approved, a photography permit will be sent to you. Please be sure to have the permit with you on photo shoot day.
  • Photo shoots and photography applications are not accepted during the New Year’s holidays.
  • Please be aware that even after permission has been granted, permission may be withdrawn unavoidably due to circumstances of Kyoto Gyoen.
  • Media-related photography within Kyoto Gyoen is permitted only for the purpose of introducing the garden.
    Please note that photography with people in it is not permitted, even for the purpose of introducing Kyoto Gyoen.

Lending of Kyoto Gyoen Scenery Images

  • We lend images in the Photo Album on this website to the media and others for introducing Kyoto Gyoen.
  • If you wish to use an image, please submit an application and a written proposal regarding the article, etc. you plan to publish.
